I feel that Andrew Jackson went too far when he made the Indian Removeal Act because it resulted in the death of over 4,000 Cherokee Indians. I think that he could have went about things differently. I don't think that it was fair for those Native Americans to be uprooted from their homes and forced to move out with little explanation.
I think that President Jackson went way to far with the Indian removal act. He took them out their home were they have been living there long before the colonies were established. He made about 15,000 of them move and out of those 15,000 indians 4,000 of them died of stravation and diease. Jackson used the excuse that they were taking up to much land but in reality they had a very small portion. He made a total of 4 tribes move to the west of the Mississippi river. All in all i thought Jackson was not apporiate when dealing with this.
President Jackson should not have mde the Indians move off their land because the native Americans were their first. President Jackson was being greedy and forceful when removing them from their land. Congress passed a law that moving the indians off ofs their land was unconstitutional and Jackson did it anyway.
I dont think it was fair to the indians .. I agree with what chris said because even though Jackson made a tough decision i think it was the wrong decision because that many deaths is horrible. Who is Jackson to say for the Indians to move west of the Mississippi River..thats unfair. Even though Andrew Jackson did this for his own reason and he thought it was a way of protecting and allowing them time to adjust to the white culture-noone should be segragated
